Empire of the Sun - Wandering Star

It’s been widely known since the spring of 2013 that Australia’s larger-than-life electropop duo Empire of the Sun, would be composing the score for the much-anticipated blockbuster sequel, Dumb and Dumber To. However, it wasn’t until last month that fans were able to fully experience the audiovisual treatment the band put together for the film. Considering Steele’s and Littlemore’s knack for over-the-top, vibrant contributions, it couldn’t have been hard to spot this more mellow exclusive entitled “Wandering Star” on the movie’s soundtrack. This smooth lonely traveller beat, while not as energetic as their mesmerizing and memorable “Alive” (from Ice on the Dune and also on the soundtrack), may leave some curious on how it fits into the overall mold of this kooky comedy, but it’s an enjoyable listen nonetheless.
