The Darkside Initiative is the latest partner alongside Vans‘ storied Vault collection. The co-branded effort results in the “Armored” Pack featuring an OG Era LX and Sk8-Hi LX. Each model embraces some of the most innovative textiles currently in the market in the form of Superfabric® and Outlast®. Superfabric® and its unique disposition revolves around a myriad of features including the inclusion of “guard plates” which allow flexibility and breathability but also provides resistance to fraying, snags and slashes from “razor-like” threats. The second material, Outlast®, is one that has seen itself implemented on footwear offerings in increasing frequency. Its phase change material properties offers the ability to regulate temperature through the absorption and gradual release of heat as needed — which in the case of the “Armored” pack features as a layer between the sock-liner and outsole. The “Armored” pack will release to the tune of 100 pairs each in sizes US4.5 to US13. The release will begin on November 22 at 11AM PST and online at 3PM PST. The shoes will carry a price tag of $180 USD for the OG Era LX and $225 USD for the Sk8-Hi.
