Considering all the buzz attached to T-Pain‘s name right now, it seems only right for the 29-year-old crooner to drop the first single for his upcoming studio album, Stoicville. The title track shared today will serve as the LP’s opener, and features a less radio-friendly T-Pain stripped of even the slightest hint of auto-tune. The T-Pain on “Stoicville” is a passionate, reflective one, with Pain almost sounding enraged at a couple points. Considering T-Pain’s introduction to the game, who would have thought he could spit like this? Speaking to The FADER about the newfound style expressed on “Stoicville,” T-Pain says the track is him doing a ”quick tell-all—airing everything out and letting my past be the past and basically starting anew.” You can listen to “Stoicville” above, while a release date for T-Pain’s new LP has yet to be announced.
