In the spirit of end-of-week joys, Norwegian duo Röyksopp have released two brand new singles titled “You Know I Have To Go” featuring Jamie McDermott and “Sordid Affair” featuring Ryan James of Man Without Country. Following from the release of “Skulls,” the two singles also come off of the pairs fifth studio album The Inevitable End which also, sadly, will conclude the musical pairing as it is their final album. In releasing the singles, they also provided us with commentary:
On “You Know I Have To Go:”
“The attraction and the doubt; the dilemma as whether to succumb to one’s feelings or not. The sheer length of the track is meant to illustrate the prolonging internal struggle between reason and lust.”
On “Sordid Affair:”
“A recollection and contemplation of the emotional aspects of the endeavours as described in the track title. The difficulties of letting go of emotional attachments – even those of a questionable nature.”
Take a listen of “You Know I Have To Go” here with ”Sordid Affair” available for stream down below. The Inevitable End will be out November 11.
