HYPEBEAST Road Trips Amsterdam: The Dutch Experience at Pancakes! Amsterdam

As suggested by the name of the restaurant, Pancakes! serves pancakes or as the Dutch call it, pannenkoek. This Dutch pannenkoek house specializes in pancakes of all kinds including American, Turkish, French, and Gluten-Free. They also whip up custom sweet and savory pancakes with a long list of ingredients to chose from including a selection of cheeses, meats, veggies, fruits, and sweets. It’s all about the Poffertjes though, mini Dutch pancakes lathered in butter and dusted with powdered sugar. These bad boys are crack. Poffertjes are made with yeast and buckwheat flour creating a lighter and spongier texture which help to soak up all that buttery goodness! This charming pancake house is fairly small with a strict first come first serve policy. Put your name on the waiting list and take a stroll around incredible canals.

For our third installment of HYPEBEAST Road Trips, we continued our journey with cultural connector and creative Toon fan, Simon Wainwright, Nicole Fung of That Food Cray !!! and writer Joy Yoon (author of The Best Things to Do in Los Angeles: 1001 Ideas). We explored the known and unknown parts of Amsterdam to uncover new adventures and take a deep look into the culture of the city. It’s preserving the old with the new, which serves as the idyllic and inventive background many associate with present day Amsterdam.
