Donald Glover to Star in Ridley Scott's ‘The Martian'

With his STN MTN / Kauai project on heavy rotation, Donald Glover‘s acting career is also catching serious steam. As The Wrap points out, Glover has landed a role in Ridley Scott’s new sci-fi adventure The Martian, which will be distributed via 20th Century Fox. The movie’s cast further includes the talents of Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Mackenzie Davis and Jeff Daniels. The plot involves an astronaut (Damon) who strands on Mars and has to find a way to survive until his rescue. Childish is set to play a young NASA scientist while Daniels will play the director of NASA, and Wiig has been signed on to play its director of media relations. Chastain will be seen as the leader of the rescue mission, and Pena, Mara and Henne as astronauts.
The good news don’t end here. While he can be currently be seen in Disney’s Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Donald has also recently joined the cast of Magic Mike XXL and will star alongside Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass in Lionsgate’s thriller Lazarus.
