After introducing a long-awaited, high-powered update to its Mac Pro last year, Apple has followed suit with a new edition of the affordable Mac mini. Designed to pack the entire Mac experience into a single 7.7-inch-square frame, the newest Mac mini now boasts fourth generation Intel Core processors, integrated Intel HD Graphics 5000 and Intel Iris Graphics that are up to 90% faster, next-generation 802.11ac WiFi, and two Thunderbolt 2 ports that deliver up to 20Gbps of bandwidth each. Better yet, the Mac mini is still the most energy-efficient desktop on the market, exceeding Energy Star 6.1 requirements seven-fold and consuming as few as 6 watts of power when idle.
Running the brand new OS X Yosemite, Apple’s updated Mac mini is now available online with pricing starting as low as $499 USD.
