Today, Apple announced that customers can start making payments with the touch of a finger on Monday, October 20 when Apple Pay becomes available in the United States. Designed to protect the user’s personal information while allowing users to make payments directly from their devices, the feature utilizes the likes of NFC antenna, Touch ID security, Secure Element privacy, and the convenience of Passbook for safe, easy payments sans credit and debit cards. Look for Apple Pay to be available for both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus — and the Apple Watch next year — with the introduction of iOS 8.1 while Apple Pay’s online shopping within apps will be available on the aforementioned iPhones, as well as the newly introduced iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3.
