Joining Apple‘s brand new iPad Air 2 is the latest edition of the iPad mini: the iPad mini 3. Due to be available in Apple’s gold, silver and space gray finishes, the new mini comes powered by the proprietary A7 chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture and is now equipped with iOS 8, Touch ID, and a Retina display alongside a 5MP iSight camera, FaceTime HD camera, and ultra-fast wireless connectivity. With prices starting at $399 USD — and the iPad mini with Retina Display (now renamed the iPad mini 2) and iPad mini now reduced to just $299 and $249 USD, respectively — the iPad mini 3 is set to be available online this Friday, October 17.
