Nike Vapor Carbon 2014 Elite Football Cleat

Recently, a Nike team made up of designers, bio-mechanists, coaches, trainers, and athletes partnered with long-time partner and gold-medal sprinter Michael Johnson to redefine speed and make football players faster – the culmination of which was the Swoosh’s own 40-Yard Dash Project and the creation of the Vapor Laser Talon. Now, Nike is going one step further in preparation for Super Bowl XLVIII with the brand new Vapor Carbon 2014 Elite. Utilizing a modified version of the “V-Plate” pattern first seen on the Vapor Laser Talon, the new cleat is now adapted for multi-directional explosiveness thanks to a decoupled forefoot – thus promoting natural motion and offering added support. Joined by large tri-star cleat studs at the toe are supplemental shovel cleats along the sidewall, as well as a trio of conical studs at the heel – a trifecta offering perhaps the best traction to ever come from a football cleat. Finally, a full-length carbon fiber plate enhances both energy-return and propulsion while a one-piece upper and Dynamic Flywire allow for a supportive, second-skin fit. Finished in silver as a nod to the Vince Lombardi Trophy, the Super Bowl edition of the Nike Vapor Carbon 2014 Elite is now available via Nike’s own online store for $150 USD.
