Known for his keen eye and subversive takes on classic styles, clothier Steve Alan has joined forces with footwear brand CLAE for a capsule collection that’s comfortably suited for both the concrete jungle and the great outdoors. Alan applies his subtle approach to redesign CLAE’s popular mid-rise boot – the Strayhorn Vibram – by removing its heel counter and pull loop, yet maintaining its refined look and feel with a supple high-quality suede. The durability of the Vibram Christy sole is then fortified with speed lacing D-rings, whilst tricolor hiking laces and a co-branded “CLAE for Steven Alan” debossed tongue rounds out the juxtaposition of rugged meets the refined. Priced at $180 USD and limited to only 300 pairs per color, the collaborative Strayhorn Vibram boot is available in gravel and deep navy at select Steven Alan stores as well as CLAE’s online shop.
