Originally introduced in 1987, New Balance‘s 996 was hailed as the go-to running shoe when it hit the market more than two decades ago thanks to a “conventional” last – meaning “standard” measurements for heel width, instep height, toe box depth and forefoot width – that somehow provided nearly the perfect fit for just about any foot. The silhouette continues to reign supreme amongst NB aficionados, as evidenced by this latest release. Draped in black mesh and suede with a touch of matching leather, the kicks see contrasting white and royal blue accents on the likes of the midsole, lining, laces and branding. Finished with a combo of New Balance’s ENCAP and ABZORB technologies, this 996 is now available via Premier for $150 USD.
