Kenny Scharf "Pop Renaissance" @ Honor Fraser Gallery

Known for creating fun-loving art illustration with nods at pop culture, Los Angeles painter Kenny Scharf takes his chromatic styles to the Honor Fraser gallery. Titled Pop Renaissance, the exhibition splits into two separate rooms, showcasing the artist’s use of bright colors and enticing caricatures in a slew of imagery throughout. In room one, Scharf presents a series inspired by his love for The Flintstones, in which the iconic characters adorn sets of colorful silk-screened canvases. In room two, Scharf’s dexterity continues via a dynamic melange of symbols and characters, as sentiments of organized chaos take over the minimalist walls. Pop Renaissance is now showing through till August 24, be sure to pop down if you’re in the area.
