Chicago has long seen a social epidemic that stems from a violent combination of guns and gang warfare, with yearly death tolls coming in close to those in wartime Iraq – cementing the Windy City’s alias as ‘Chi Raq.’ A place where turf wars and firearms are plentiful, British filmmaker Will Robson-Scott ventures into South and West Chicago to further uncover the causalities and those involved. The first in a series of exclusives commissioned films for Protein TV, Robson-Scott’s Chi Raq features an array of characters in the Chicago community, including rapper King Louie.
