Having unveiled its concept version earlier this year, luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz officially reveals the GLA ahead of its September public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. At first glance the compact crossover looks like the offspring of the A-Class hatchback and CLA sedan, yet with a more articulated body, bigger alloy wheels, roof rails, a dual exhaust system, and a tailgate-mounted spoiler. The German carmaker plans to release a slew of gasoline and diesel engines for this model that’ll offer anywhere between 1.6 and 2.2 liters delivering between 156 and 211 HP. Its fastest version – the GLA 250 – comes equipped with 4MATIC AWD that will travel 0-62 mph in 6.5 seconds before reaching a top speed of 145 mph. A luxury appeal fit for off-road excursions, the Mercedes-Benz GLA is without doubt a must-see for crossover fans.
