Magna Carta... Holy Grail - The Samples

One of the more interesting perspectives from the Kanye West Yeezus release was the archive of samples that were curated by Gianni Lee and Mike Blub. The duo have returned again this time to add their touch to Jay-Z‘s recent Magna Carta… Holy Grail full-length. The selection of samples provides a deeper appreciation for the extent and breadth of the music knowledge of Hov as well as the other collaborators from the album. The sample list includes bites from the likes of Sizzla, Johnny Guitar Watson, Adrian Younge, Nirvana, Mase, R.E.M., Gonjasufi and many more. Taking it even further into Hov’s resume, Lee and Blub also offered a mix of samples from Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt album.
