On one of the biggest nights in hip-hop this year, thousands of Jay-Z fans who purchased phones or downloaded the infamous app were left frustrated in the early hours of Thursday morning, July 4th. And although the build-up, the promotion, and all the hype surrounding the Samsung App for Hov’s new Magna Carta Holy Grail album was a success, the actual execution on the night of launch fell short for many who’ve been waiting weeks to have first dibs on MCHG. Instead of being one of millions to hear it first, many were experiencing issues with the software leaving them to see all but a blank white screen. As it stands, there’s a plethora of negative and one star reviews left by frustrated fans on the Samsung App store which aren’t too pleasant. If this happened to you would you be upset? Well, here’s what some had to say:
Marc Harrison wrote: “Wtf. Can’t get past the first screen. The day the album is out…”
Kriz Shiozaki said: “I am trying to download the album right now and when I click on enter Magna Carter it takes me to a screen that stays white. Is there a problem or just so many people on the app right now?”
Michael added: “Thanks a lot for my ‘free’ album hahaha. Can’t even get past the main screen. Is it that hard to actually give us what we want? Samsung has so much money and can’t even get a stupid app to work.”
If it helps alleviate the pain for some of you, we actually have a full album stream of Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail album here.
