With news of tastemakers Dylan Rieder and Austyn Gillette riding for HUF Footwear hitting the internet late yesterday, the California-based label has wasted no time in hinting that there are more tricks up its sleeve yet. As evidence, here we take a look at HUF’s HR-1, a new silhouette being introduced for Fall 2013. Though silhouettes such as the HUF Cooper have represented a foray into lifestyle-focused offerings from the brand, the HR-1 adds a radical, technical edge to the line, unabashedly taking cues from iconic running sneakers, work boots and premium high tops. Premium full-grain leather dominates the upper, though of course offset by breathable mesh around the toe and side panels. HUF has also introduced their StratusFoam midsole technology to the sneaker, adding comfort around critical impact points at the sneaker’s bottom. Enjoy a look at the HR-1 in its introductory colorways, releasing to finer retailers on August 8 for $120 USD.
