For the world-renowned DJ Neil Armstrong, a daily “commute” consists of flying to Africa from New York and then back to LA in one 24-hour period. Nonetheless, this quintessential hip-hop maestro, who has spun for Jay Z on tour and elevated the mixtape to an art form, never feels lost while speaking the “universal languages” of music and food. Treasures abound in travel for Neil, like discovering wax and vinyl that never made it to his home country of the USA. His main piece of advice as a member of Heineken’s #DROPPED council is to “be willing to get lost.” Nonetheless, Neil recommends bringing a digital audio recorder with you whenever voyaging abroad. To him, there’s no better soundtrack than the one of your own adventures.
The Heineken Dropped campaign is a global initiative to launch the Heineken Voyage, the fifth chapter of Heineken’s global Legends campaign. Heineken will search the globe for four men who embody the “Legendary Traveler” and send them on voyages around the world to challenge them to travel outside their comfort zone. One of these travelers will be from the US.
