With a nod to iconic designer Dieter Rams and his idea that design should “… limit everything to the essential, but do not remove the poetry,” Armoire D’Homme presents the first look at its upcoming Spring/Summer 2014 collection by way of a seasonal lookbook. Meant to be both a laid-back and uncomplicated approach to the prototypical menswear wardrobe, the collection emphasizes purity: a subtle color palette is combined with the likes of Tencel – recycled polyester from Teijin – organic cotton oxford, and naturally dyed wool. The Copenhagen-based label’s Kjetil Aas-crafted designs “steeped in Scandinavian design traditions” and embracing both “timelessness and functionality” serve as an apropos continuation of its forthcoming Fall/Winter 2013 collection.
