The execution of a holdall is often in stark contrast to the idea of masculinity, typically resulting in a look that screams “man bag” or, worse, “murse.” Naturally, luxury atelier Maison Martin Margiela avoids both with the introduction of its Black Leather Holdall for Pre-Fall/Winter 2013. The perfect overnight bag or weekender thanks to its 50 x 35 x 25 cm dimensions, the design boasts supple-yet-rugged calf leather construction with a single external pocket and an additional zippered pocket – not to mention a number of miniature pouches – on the inside of the large central compartment. A large shoulder strap joins the piece’s padded handles, each constructed of the same premium leather as the bag itself. Finished with Margiela’s signature white quad stitch, the Italian-crafted bag is now available via oki-ni for £755 GBP (approximately $1,174 USD).
