Since taking the reigns at the legendary Saint Laurent as creative director, Hedi Slimane has since changed the consumer-facing name, recruited some edgier influencers, and generally redirected the iconic brand to fit his leading contemporary vision. The latest result of this is a new flagship store for Saint Laurent, which opened its cast iron doors in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. Sitting comfortably at 80 Greene Street, the 4,000-square-foot brick and mortar adopts to Slimane’s penchant for black and white, utilizing materials such as black matte-finished marble, nickel-plated brass and smooth concrete to enhance the post-modern feel of the brand.
