Inspired by minimalist sculptor, DeWain Valentine, and the Light and Space Art Movement of 1960s, HAERFEST‘s latest collection continues its exploration of unique material combinations, surfaces and textures for Fall/Winter 2013. The “Light and Space” collection riffs on HAERFEST’s signature styles — shell backpacks, duffels and card sleeves — with a fusion of translucent “ghost” PVC, textured canvas and reflective leather, playing with light and shadow, and adding some aesthetic pop to its clean, “reductive” designs. This is not to say that the bags are all about their looks — as always, materials, proportions and construction are top notch, with details like YKK Excella zippers, antiqued brass hardware, and premium cowhide and canvas throughout.
