In addition to unveiling its forthcoming Spring/Summer 2014 footwear collection, Swiss luxury label Bally presented its corresponding range of seasonal ready-to-wear over the weekend. Based on the sport of cycling, the upcoming “Tour de Bally” collection is meant to be the perfect option for everyone from the city racer to the weekend freewheeler. As such, the collection offers three distinct moods: “City Biker,” “Cross-Country,” and the “Racer” – each of which take cues from 1950s photography of the iconic Tour de Suisse. The result is a combination of “high-technology leatherwork, re-engineered classics from the Bally archives, as well as innovative treatments and techniques” that include the likes of a specially engineered Teflon tanning, cutting-edge rubberization, bi-color perforated suede, and even a new process that binds leather to cotton and other materials. Draped in hues of Asphalt Grey, Racing Red, Sprint Blue, Off White, Hill Green, Mountain Mud and Buff Sand, Bally’s cycling-centric collection will be available in its entirety in early 2014.
