Stussy has been hearkening back to its roots recently, so it’s only fitting that the label is releasing a new book on Craig Fineman – one of surfing and skateboarding’s most influential photographers. POOLS features never before seen photographs by a lensman known for his unique angles and composition — “intertwined with an almost architectural feel” — as well as his artistic approach to photographing the late ’70s surfing and skateboarding scene. And, although Fineman has passed on, thanks to boyhood friend Duncan Campbell and International Stussy Tribe member Jules Gayton, some of the photographer’s best unreleased work is now immortalized in this special edition volume published by Dashwood Books. Seen here is a video introduction to POOLS, an intimate look at a late 1970s pool skating session captured in Fineman’s signature black and white. To purchase the book, as well as a colorful selection of Fineman tees, visit Stussy now.
