Aesop Shibuya by Torafu Architects
Australian cosmetics brand Aesop commissioned Torafu Architects to convert a newly acquired retail

Australian cosmetics brand Aesop commissioned Torafu Architects to convert a newly acquired retail location into a welcoming consumer experience. Torafu, which has previously done work for Toyota, Nike and FREITAG, was challenged to fulfill a slender space – 2.6 m in width, 7.8 m in depth and 3.9 m in height – all the while staying consistent with Aesop’s established aesthetic. The firm made use of earthy materials such as blackened steel, weathered wood and sisal carpeting throughout the space, which conveniently features a large work surface and washbasin in addition to Aesop’s line of goods.
