1985 Beastie Boys Interview Gets Animated

We get a little blast from the past today in the form of a 1985 ABC News Radio interview with the Beastie Boys. As an extra treat, the interview gets literally animated by Blank on Blank for their latest installment in a series collaboration with PBS Digital Studios. The sit-down catches the New York boys in Washington, D.C. while on Madonna‘s ‘The Virgin Tour.’ Among other things, the trio discuss nearly being arrested for profanity the night before, the chaos following every show, their place in rap music, and what the word “def” means to them. It’s always a pleasure to hear innovators back when they were beginning, and this is surely a must-listen for any hip-hop lover.
