Volkswagen and design agency DMG release this CG-heavy promotional video for the wildly successful Golf GTi Mark VI. The Chinese marketed video depicts a TRON-inspired world of death-racing where the GTi is pitted against the most menacing of ostentatious hyper cars. The director goes on to explain that he wanted to “reconfirm GTis position as THE cult urban sports car,” a feat seemingly accomplished with a mere running time of a little over four-and-a-half minutes. While unrealistic and a poor display of statistics and functionality, true car fanatics can’t help but appreciate the time, effort and apparent high budget spent on the project that ultimately showcases a grand exhibition for an already phenomenal car.
