With the aim of introducing youth to the world of button-downs and suiting, The Stylist Japan was founded in 2006 by designer Atushi Okubo. A fashion stylist, Okubu started with button-downs in extra-thick oxford cloth and gradually added suits in workwear materials, infusing the traditionally-styled garments with an element of fun. Those hefty button-downs and reworked suits feature again for Spring/Summer 2013, along with cardigans, plaid shorts, Harrington-style jackets and printed ties. Seen here in this season’s lookbook — starring street style icon Kogi “Poggy” Motofumi — the pieces will be made available to the public via a pop-up at United Arrows & Sons in Harajuku from April 5 to 30, with more information available at the label’s website.
