Gita - Mardi Gras

While the mentioning of ‘girl power’ might have one thinking about a certain all-female UK band, things may change rather soon as Gita is emerging on the scene. The Harlem-based artist delivers a brand new visual for her Darq E Freaker-produced single “Mardi Gras.” Helmed by Yoni Lappin, the David LaChappelle-inspired clip was filmed in an abandoned Victorian house in London, neatly capturing Gita’s refreshingly energetic style. BBC Radio 1‘s Zane Lowe seems to agree as he named the tune the “Next Hype Record of the Week.” Expect Gita’s new EP dropping via ASL Records in late spring. In the meantime, have a look above.
