“We’re not really reinventing anything,” said U.S. Alteration‘s Miguel Gala recently, “We’re making sweatshirts, we’re re-constructing military or American icons.” What the label does, however, it does well. Made in USA at reasonable price points, U.S. Alteration provides fresh takes on traditional Americana, like those found in its collection for Spring/Summer 2013. Included this season are sophisticated cut-and-sew basics — crewnecks, hoodies, tees and sweatpants — in updated fits and impeccable fabrics. Tiger camo features on sweatshirts for spring, while French terry sweatpants are given slight drop-crotches for comfort and style. Rounding out the collection is the Camo Jungle Jacket and U.S. Alteration’s spin on a vintage military BDU shirt, with authentic details and deep, overdyed tiger camo pattern.
