Menswear is heavily influenced by past generations and iterations, in which certain brands look at an archetypal piece or iconic style genre and reappropriate it according to the said brand’s ethos. The result sees immaculate remakes to timeless creations, but what it doesn’t do however is make that design template inherently better than its original. In the above video interview, Gala discusses his brand’s American ties, the balancing act that occurs between Gala and Co-Creator Candie Weitz, the idea of indulging consumer senses, and the opening of U.S. Alterations Beverly Hill’s shop/gallery/discussion forum/mini workshop.
