Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich, the man often referred to as the band’s sixth member, hit the British airwaves last night under their side project, Atoms for Peace, and delivered the latest installment in the BBC Essential Mix series.
From Diplo to DOOM to DJ Slugo, among various others, the two-hour set featured an eclectic music selection. The duo also treated listeners to a couple previously unreleased tracks – Radiohead’s “Harmonics Loop” and Yorke’s own “Has Been.”
Yorke and Godrich join a long list of artists, including Swedish House Mafia, Sasha and Flying Lotus, who have graced the Essential Mix decks since its inception in 1993.
