Aaliyah x Debian Blak Bootleg Remix EP

Having spent his tenure rubbing shoulders with acute up-and-comers in Leeds, Oxford-based Debian Blak is a rising producer who comfortably submerses himself into a sphere of experimental, but nonetheless compelling electronica. Recently signing to fledgling label Audio Donuts, the young artisan delivers a bootleg remix EP sampling from the late great Aaliyah. Applying a meld of far-out percussion and heartfelt tempos with chopped up vocal edits, the three-track feature displays Debian’s awareness of space with rhythm, delivering a headphone-friendly rendition in departure from his other work with reggae-meets-folk outfit East Park Reggae Collective. Minimal, stripped-back without surrendering the affable sound of 2-step, this release preps us for Six Months From Mars, due to drop before the end of the year.
