Over the weekend, London-based conceptual clothing artist Altor Throup was up in Los Angeles to personally present the first archetype of his promising New Object Research label–the iconic skull-shaped military-inspired bag that we’ve loved for a while now. For the first time, the Shiva Skull Bag, as well as framed illustrations from the artist’s London studio, are available for exclusive purchase at H.Lorenzo as the West Coast part of his global release. “Things have never been stitched together like this before; I don’t want to have the pressure of creating a new concept every six months,” Throup has said of his ergonomically-informed discipline and its place in the fashion industry. The Argentina-born designer is slowly amassing a ‘concept archive’ of timeless designs to be endlessly re-imagined, a process that “confronts the conventions of the genre.” The Shiva Skull Bag installation runs through to May.
