Prince is due to headline Montreux Jazz Festival this summer for three consecutive shows, since his last performance at the festival in 2007. In 2009, the Purple Rain icon played two stunning back-to-back shows which mixed classic rhythms with jazz rarities, which was later released as a download. With a recent comeback via a slew of online releases which nod at his 1980s blue funk craftsmanship, and the formation of his new all-female band, it’ll be interesting to see what Prince delivers at the renowned jazz gala, taking place July 5-20, 2013.
