Again working to create the “historically new,” Garbstore‘s new collection takes its vintage-inspired garments into a lighter, brighter place for Spring/Summer 2013. Present this season are the familiar staples of any man’s wardrobe — blazers, chinos and shirting — but this time around, floral prints, modern details and lightweight fabrics replace fall/winter’s heftier styles. Standouts include the unstructured Rydal Sports Jacket, with its subtle dragonfly motif and multitude of pockets, and similarly-patterned Civilian Service Chino Short in a great shade of teal — garments that can be paired for a relaxed yet sophisticated spring outfit. Elsewhere, the label’s Munitions Jacket Modified is a clean, updated take on a military classic while the Five Jet Chino Pant takes the basic chino and adds spice with a great floral print.
