Creative director Scott Sternberg doesn’t show much on the runway these days. From last season’s art gallery window installation to the recent scavenger hunt he staged in New York, Band of Outsiders‘ presentations of late have been oddly — and delightfully — unpredictable. Thankfully for most guys, the label’s clothes remain a little more familiar, riffing on the prep-inspired silhouettes that Sternberg has honed for almost a decade. For Spring/Summer 2013, there are windbreakers, hooded anoraks and ponchos, sweatsuits in terry cloth, patterned shirts, and shrunken suits, along with more traditional staples like classic chinos and shorts that offer graphic, modern takes on American classics. The fit of the garments, meanwhile, again hews closely to classic BoO proportions, providing a slim, contemporary silhouette for the modern man.
