From the Strip Club to the Charts: Hip-Hop in Atlanta

Following from a swathe of informative mini docs under the New American Noise series, Nokia Music, in partnership with the Sundance Channel again offers up another unique episode titled “Atlanta Dream$,” shedding light on the integral relationship between hip-hop and strip clubs in Atlanta. Venturing into the neon lights of Atlanta, the clip uncovers how prominent rappers like Gucci Mane and Future have capitalized on their success with help from strip club DJs. In addition to speaking to a number of acquainted strippers, Trinidad Jame$ and T-Pain share thoughts on the debauchery-driven Atlanta sound, before taking a tour around the local stripper supply store which astonishingly shows just how much a part of the equation strippers are.
