For Fall/Winter 2013, Alexandre Mattiussi took his inspiration from Parisian commuters — those going to work and those heading home for the night. AMI has never been about fantasy and, like commuter garb, the clothes this season are as wearable as they have ever been — “It is a proposition of real clothes for a real man,” Mattiussi says of his collections. Those very real influences translated for fall to mean double-breasted coats, down jackets with shearling collars, flannels and lots of denim, a deft intersection of tailored meets casual that covers a broad spectrum of occasions. Zigzag patterns and bright hues like red and green, meanwhile, should make Fall/Winter 2013 a hit with both an older clientele and a younger, bolder audience.
