Continuing our weekly look into Nike Basketball’s “Prelude” collection as we work towards the launch of Kobe Bryant’s ninth signature sneaker with the brand, we provide a closer look at the artistically-designed Zoom Kobe IV “Prelude.” With designer Eric Avar at the helm, this model revolutionized basketball sneakers with its low-cut, lightweight profile that complements the quick gameplay of its wearer. The same year this model released (2009), the Black Mamba brought home the 15th championship to the Lakers franchise, and as a tribute its upper features a purple and gold colorway with unique paint splatters. The above pair will be available at Nike.com, and at select retailers in North America and China on Saturday, December 28.
