A new release ahead of Grammy season comes courtesy of Kendrick Lamar and the TDE camp, who presents a video for the 11th track on good kid, m.A.A.d city. The video is essentially a grayscale tour of the trip from Los Angeles to Compton, juxtaposed by footage of artist Eddie Peake creating a mural of his lyrics. Beyond its simple premise though, the Darren Romanelli-directed video does well to reinforce the ‘stream-of-consciousness’ style of the song itself, from the car drive to the a cappella verse at the end. Fans of the album will note that the above is only half of the song’s story, but can look forward to a second installment at the end of the month.
