Our next installment of Essentials takes us to the personal belongings of G.B.E’s (Glory Boyz Entertainment) Fredo Santana. Older cousin to Chief Keef, the Chicago native made headlines last year after appearing on the video for ”I Don’t Like” and has since been releasing a steady flow of mixtapes, and the more recent album, Trappin Aint Dead, which contains the song Jealous featuring Kendrick Lamar. Easily identifiable by his face tats, including his signature upside-down cross, Santana embodies the streets of Chicago in each one of his hard-hitting trap songs. Looking past the extendo clips, violence and drugs, this Essentials stands testament to the importance of perseverance — applied outside the realm of criminal activity of course — and is about making the best out of a bad situation. For those that are interested in seeing Fredo Santana live, he’ll be performing at Santos Party House on December 18 with guests Young Gleesh and A$AP Ant. Details here.
