Building upon the success of 2012’s “Anachronistic Capture: Motion & Stills,” Los Angeles-based artist Quam Odunsi is returning to Design Matters this month with his second solo exhibition at the gallery, “The Reagents: Film on Paper & Canvas.” Featuring 35mm, 120mm and Polaroid film images in Odunsi’s prototypical surveillance-like style, “The Reagents” tells the narrative of a government agent who finds himself becoming increasingly absorbed by the citizens and their private lives as he conducts surveillance on special interest groups. “The Reagents” opens Thursday, October 10 and will remain on display through November 2. Stay tuned for a closer look at Odunsi’s work in an upcoming edition of THROUGH THE LENS.
