Sandwiched between the forthcoming “PASS THE BLAME” and the recently opened display at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts is KAWS‘s “UPS AND DOWNS” at Johnson County Community College’s Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas. Home to a bevy of previously unseen works, the exhibition is highlighted by the installation of the 17’ black Passing Through Companion on the museum’s front lawn. “UPS AND DOWNS” opens tonight, October 25 with a special reception from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a lecture from the artist himself. Stay tuned for a complete recap of the show, which is set to run through February 9 of next year.
