Haroshi “Pain” Exhibition @ StolenSpace Gallery Recap

Combining his love for art and skateboarding, Tokyo-based artist Haroshi presents a mind-expanding exhibitions titled “Pain.” Here, the self-taught artist stacked hundreds of recycled skateboard decks together, carving incredible sculptures which looks to a human heart, an agonized self-portrait, and the handshake ritual as core motifs. Tempering with the effects of emotional pain and its role as a powerful motivator in art, Haroshi questions what pain is and its existence. One of the highlights of the show include Agony Into Beauty — a brilliant bust of the artist himself with a painful expression. “Pain” will be showing at London’s StolenSpace Gallery till November 3.
