Based in the heart of San Francisco, the Levi’s Tailor Shop reclaims old vintage fabrics from the brand’s longstanding canon and recycles them into contemporary pieces. Inside the quiet shop, large barrels of indigo drip onto the studio floor, screen printers still smell of wet paint, and a library of fabric lines the walls. Using these tools, a diverse gang of tactile craftsmen translate their love for making into unique, exclusive garb. Filmmaker Jay Carroll took an opportunity to talk to Jared, Laura and Rachel – three craftsmen of the Levi’s Tailor Shop – getting an in-depth look at their work. Enjoy his findings above.
