POW WOW Hawai’i is a gathering of contemporary artists that engages with the broader community in the process and creation of art. From February 9-16, Honolulu will host over 100 international and local artists, feature a slew of satellite events, and create several educational initiatives round Kaka’ako and at the University of Hawaii. Set to attend the festivities include international standouts including RONE, ROID, Jeff Soto, ASKEW, Madsteez, DABS MYLA and countless others. In the words of POW WOW’s lead director, Jasper Wong, “The beauty of art is most commonly enjoyed during its final stage. All the blood, sweat and tears happen behind closed doors. However, that is where the real grandeur lies. The process. Imagine for a moment a gathering of internationally renowned artists in one place. A place that will allow them to do what they do best: be creative.” For more information regarding specific events, check out POW WOW’s website.
