After opening “Animals” – an exhibition showcasing studio portraits of live animals alongside nude models – at Manhattan’s Team Gallery earlier this summer, New York-based photographer and filmmaker Ryan McGinley hopped a flight to Tokyo to unveil his latest exhibition, “Reach Out, I’m Right Here.” Documented for Opening Ceremony by director Chad Moore with production from Kyle Cook and an editing assist from Tommy Malekoff, the footage is set to The Suzan’s cover of The Strokes’ “Take It or Leave It” and sees McGinley out and about in the Japanese metropolis before mingling with friends and guests at the opening of the new exhibit. “Reach Out, I’m Right Here” is on display at Tokyo’s Tomio Koyama Gallery through September 29, 2012.
