Number:Lab‘s archetype is the kind of guy who is “tech-savvy, athletically minded and constantly on the go.” Since 2007, the label has been producing forward-thinking collections of tech-meets-tailored clothing – a genre that has recently begun to gain prominence in men’s fashion. For 2013, designer Luis M. Fernandez looked at the juxtapositions of art versus technology and spectator versus athlete for an assortment of color-blocked, patterned garments in “engineered” lightweight fabrics like seersucker and gingham. Among the standouts, a neon/gingham travel jacket given water-repellent and reversible qualities that embodies Number:Lab’s near-perfect blend of performance and style.
